What is the Sod Installation Process Like?

Laying down sod is more than just throwing down a few squares of grass. It takes expertise to do it right. Here’s how ABB Landscaping ensure the success of your sod.

Not all turf is created equal. Like produce, freshness matters! That's why ABB works with vendors who deliver fresh turf in the morning that was cut only hours before. Ever had a fresh peach right from a tree?

We're also sure do deliver and install the sod to your property as quickly as possible after we pick it up.

We’ll need to ensure your sod installation will take! That means leveling the ground and preparing the soil so the new turf roots have an easy time establishing.

We will lay your sod in rows upon the newly prepared soil, leaving as small of a gap as possible. Then we will fill in any spaces with smaller pieces of turf.

Keeping Your New Sod Installation Healthy

After installing your sod, we'll give it a thorough watering to keep it from drying out. Then we'll give you the instructions you need to take it from there.

What Can You Do to Make

Sure Your Turf Stays Green?

After we complete your turf installation, we'll give you instructions on what to do get the most out of it. SImply, put, you'll need to water it and keep off of it!

For watering, we'll give you a schedule based on your particular needs including weather and incline, and species.

We recommend staying off the grass and not putting anything on top of it for at least 2 weeks. At that time, it can accept light foot traffic. Your first mow should use a push mower, not a tractor!
